GETTING STARTED

Your first rhythmic gymnastics class

A first class is an opportunity to experience rhythmic gymnastics and meet the coach. Beginners work on foundations such as posture, balance, coordination and controlled movement.

Wear fitted athletic clothing, bring water and tie long hair back. Confirm the class time and follow any equipment instructions Nord sends before your visit. Tell the coach about relevant injuries or participation needs.

After the trial, the coach can recommend an appropriate group. Ask about the current schedule, tuition and enrollment requirements before committing to a program.

ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

Understanding group placement

Age is one part of training placement. A coach also considers previous experience, body and apparatus technique, coordination and readiness for the group’s training demands.

At Nord, the Head Coach guides competitive placement and progression. Moving to another level requires preparation; it is not automatic simply because another season has begun.

Consistent attendance helps athletes build on what they learn. If you have questions about your athlete’s pathway, contact the academy to arrange a conversation with the coach.
